No fewer than 2,000 households across Osun State benefited on Saturday from a Ramadan food distribution organised by the City Boy Movement to cushion the impact of economic hardship during the holy month.

The beneficiaries were drawn from various groups within the informal sector, including members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, market women, health workers, pensioners, commercial motorcycle riders, hunters, widows and persons living with disabilities.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Osun State Coordinator of the movement, Ajani Ayodeji, said the gesture was a token of support and goodwill from Seyi Tinubu to Muslims observing the Ramadan fast.

According to him, the initiative was aimed at assisting vulnerable residents during the fasting period while promoting compassion and community support.

He also appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to enable the government achieve its development objectives.

Ayodeji explained that the City Boy Movement was established to mobilise support for the president ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He described the organisation as a platform designed to bridge the gap between political leadership and grassroots supporters across the country.

“The City Boy Movement serves as a bridge between the masses, undecided voters and the party. It functions like a youth wing operating from the federal level down to the states and local governments,” he said.

According to him, the group has established structures across different levels of government to coordinate its activities and engage with citizens.

Ayodeji added that the food packages distributed to beneficiaries contained essential items such as rice, sugar, salt, swallow, cooking oil, tomato paste and spaghetti.

He said, “This gesture is to Nigerians through Barrister Seyi Tinubu, we invited non-political groups, the artisans, the people with disabilities, market women and other residents of Osun State from Informal sector throughout the state to benefit from the sharing the food palliative to them today.

“We are using this medium to tell them that this is just like a tip of the iceberg, we are trying to let them know we are with them and we want their support as well in the forthcoming elections especially 2026 in Osun State and 2027 general election. More is coming from where this is coming from.

“The City Boy movement is a bridge between the masses, the undecided voters and the party. It's like a youth wing of the party from the federal level and across the whole federation. We have the organization at the federal level, the state level and at the local level. Let us give the president's administration the second chance to do the second term and a lot will be done. The total beneficiary we have today is 2,000.”
