2026 Valentine: some thrills and frills of love

Love and what nauseating caricatures we have made of it are swirling all around us in this VALENTINE DAY season . The sky-line is reddening. Red is the colour and symbol of valentine day. Mother strives to outdo daughter. Fathers, too, sneak behind the lines for conquests. Coquettish single girls and women of marriage age bow their souls in supplication for a suitor, a man, any man, who wants or is in need of a woman and her body. The whirlpool of lonesomeness in the season of valentine is making many married persons to seek an escape from the loneliness in their marriages. Gift and costume shops are laden with heavy shoppers traffic. In two days time, that is on 14 February 2026, Valentine’s Day, the eateries will overflow into the streets. Thankfully, the rain has bidden us bye. So, open air carnivals will dot the skyline. I wonder if it is love that will be celebrated and if today’s religion of love is not a desecration of the primordial meaning of the word. We speak of love, without realising that the spoken word is a great gift which impacts pressure on the environment to produce forms of its nature, pure or impure, noble or ignoble, which attach themselves to us for good or ill. The ethereal environment swirling around valentine celebrants this season, as in many others past, cannot be a pure one because the intent of many celebrants is impure. What can impurity breed other than impurity? Love is not what pleases the other person and makes him happy but is what he or she needs and is of benefit to him or her. If I may be really frank, most valentine girls and women are searching for men whose purses they will sneak and whose heads they would scrape and paste with coal tar, as we say. And most valentine boys and girls, their primary targets are the bodies of girls and women. Is that love or a caricature of it?
It is really amazing how easily forgetful we humans are in Time. How long ago was it that everyone sheathed his or her sword at the advent of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)? Now, no one seems to believe it ever existed or reared its ugly head. Thanks to Dr Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, the Iranian physician who taught us there was nothing like the virus, that what tormented HIV positive persons were nutritional deficiencies or altered status of some essential amino acids. He said these amino acids were Tryptophan, Phenylalanine and Tyrosine. Modern studies confirm that decreased levels of tryptophan affect serotonin production. Serotonin keeps us awake and agile in daylight hours and gives way in the liver to melatonin when the eyes tell the brain that night hours have come. The studies suggest, also, that increased levels of phenylalanine disturbs neurotransmitter production. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers of the brain which convey signals or messages from one brain cell to another. Phenylalanine disturbance can affect Tyrosine output. In HIV challenged persons, such changes have been found to contribute to neuropsychiatric symptoms, including depression, and deplete immunity. What Dr Batmanghelidj was saying, for example, where that serotonin and dopamine shortfalls may cause mood imbalances and that dopamine and acetylcholine disturbances can affect movement control. Similarly, say modern studies, glutamate and Gaba deficiencies do affect memory and learning. With these recognitions, it has become possible to fix HIV by, for example, adding selenium, zinc and spirulina to the diet of challenged persons. That is why many men and women are not walking straight again today and will not from Saturday. But, alas, another bad news for valentine frolickers has been in the news for some time. Human papilo virus (HPV), which causes genital herpes and cervical cancer, is ravaging girls and women. Since October 2023, Nigeria has been striving to protect 7.7 million girls against infection, through vaccination. The road appears rough for men and women who cross the lines in their youth because it is more difficult to help such persons who have been exposed to multiple partners. Women have discovered that “pap smear” on which they used to rely for a clean bill of health may no longer suffice to detect if they are going to fall over. Last month, Cross River State embarked on a massive measles-rubella-HPV campaign to vaccinate girls aged 9 years to 12 years against cervical cancer caused by the HPV virus.

I do not see men and women being afraid of the HPV virus. Alternative Medicine already has answers for it. One of the answers is the Amazon herb Guacatonga. Mrs Folake Sanusi, of Osogbo, will brighten up on reading this. It was one of the herbs I taught her when her pastors at a branch of the mountain of fire and miracle (MFM) church sent her to me about a decade or more ago to learn herbs for the health of women. Today, guacatonga is her first choice herb. This plant is anti viral, anti inflammatory and anti cancer, and was well indicated for use in HIV therapy by Brazilian doctors and university researchers. But it does more than anti viral work. In the Amazon where it was first largely identified, there are many poisonous snakes. Brazilian universities report that guacatonga bark extracts can block phospholipase, an enzyme found in snake venom by 93-97 percent.
Before I depart from the threat of disease to the love seekers of this season, I will like to remind the young ones of what befell my 15 year old foster daughter about three years ago. I wonder where my foster daughter is today. I told you about her on this page last year. She became a victim of valentine. Her “bestie”, as she called the 23 year old she thought she loved and who loved her in return, mangled her body and left on it the brutal marks of a daughter who, like the mother, he has walked away from. If you recall, I reported about three years ago in this season that she fell by the way side the year before, at fifteen, the victim of a roller coaster youth only about eight years older. I mentioned, also, the misfortune of an eighteen year old who was felled by her own father. About this time last year, I reported that she was re-fixing the pieces of her life, had sorted out her SSCE with bright Colours and was hopeful of university enrolment this year to read medicine.
If you wonder why, at 75, I see the swirls around me and why I should sense them as well when I should long have hung my gloves and boots, I would tell you that, indeed, I am free of gloves and boots. I cannot escape being Human, nevertheless. This is not just because the urge to love or to be loved is naturally engrained in all of us by Nature as part of the Human make-up, but, also, because down the road, I still have several foster daughters in the maddening crowds. Besides, my work in the health sector demands that I keep men and women flaming like flamingos for all seasons, so they can contribute their widow’s mite quota to the ever growing population of earth dwellers. There is a pressure of a foreboding event on the other side of the world which we erroneously call the “beyond”. We ignorantly call this part of The world the “beyond” because it is beyond the sensibility of our earthly senses and we have failed to develop within us the ethereal senses to consciously perceive it while we are here. The pressure is mounting here and there because drastic changes are to take place there and here, and only here can we rapidly acquire survivalist inner abilities and strength.
So every-one out here wishes to come here. The pressure is on women here to give those over there the opportunity to come here for shelter, at least for a while. Women here incorrectly translate this pressure to the wrong notion that marriages and motherhood are their ultimate goals on earth. Any woman of marriage age who has been left behind regards herself as an old maid, and grieves. She may get over this by becoming a mother outside marriage. Afterall, aren’t there wives who are not mothers? Doesn’t the equation even out, somewhat?
These are some of the thoughts which will govern the frenzy of Valentine’s Day or Lover’s Day on February 14 which is 48 hours away. The eateries Will be filled with persons of both genders who would be pretending love to their partners. I am not saying there would be no genuine Lovers. How many of them would there be? The goal of many partners would be...the Bed!
I must digress from these ones to others in the man-meets woman industry who keep me busy year round. We are in the marriage industry where LOVE may, also, easily give way to its caricatures. It is an amazing sub world of primary lovers, secondary lovers and tertiary lovers. The primary lovers married in the ripe time for it or are moving near marriage. The secondary class hosts women above 35 who have lost hopes of finding partners of their age and do not mind men who are in marriage or have been through one or two, with children to show for it. The tertiary group parades men in their sixties and seventies or older. Very likely, they are widowers or divorcees who are still hungry for companionship of the other gender. They have experienced loneliness or lonesomeness and have learned to give up almost all the impositions younger men clamp on women. Many women in the secondary lovers category do not mind tertiary lovers.
Common to the secondary and tertiary lovers groups are several forms of energy crises. In plain words, their bodies no longer “boot” well, to borrow computer language. Many women have become frigid, no longer the flaming, fiery women they were, and the men have turned cold fish.
Why “secondary” and “tertiary” women are often immovable is understandable. By their nature, women were not meant for incinerating “blast furnace” existence. That’s the place for men. And that’s why the bodies of men are obtuse or coarser than women’s. When a woman finds she is impaired and has to fend for her needs, she sets out in the pursuit of money, often of the toughest of terrains. Doing this alters something womanly about her. I cannot discuss this, as I do while counselling sexually frigid women, without saying something about the three-in-one earth-man and earth woman. Man is a spirit spark from out of the radiation of God sown in the material soil to grow and develop into a human being. Outside the spirrit world, this spirit spark covers itself with the materials of the various spheres of existence it sinks down into before, finally, it arrives on earth where it picks an earth body or covering from the mother’s womb in order to be tangible on this planet. The spirit spark and all its other coverings minus the earth covering is the soul, which some persons call the ghost. The soul and the earth covering is the Earth man or the Earth woman. Through experiences in its wanderings on earth, the spirit spark is afforded the opportunity to grow into or to evolve into a human form. That is when it becomes a human being. It is like the mango seed kernel which germinates, flowers and fruits and can be called a mango tree!
When a woman pursues the vocations of men, her volition and vibrations alter the form of her inner coverings from female to male while the kernel and the earth body remain female. The earth body will not transform from female to male immediately because, on earth, volition is not immediately deed. It is possible that, at her next incarnation on earth, the female soul impacted by male volition, would find itself in a male earth body. Meanwhile, the transformation would have begun in this earth- life, and that soul or that woman would have begun to show the tendencies of a distorted soul, that is a female soul in a male body or a female body gradually transformed into a male body!
There are many women-men or distorted souls on earth today. They often have gynaecological problems. Their distorted physical or earth bodies face ovulation, hormonal, pregnancy and child bearing challenges corresponding to the degree of their distortion. Irresponsiveness to sex is not the only challenge of these women , nor do their other problems have to do exclusively with diet, stress or second chakra challenges which I have been describing for three weeks. There may be important inputs in a squamous quagmire, no doubt, but the foundation of earthly being and well being or otherwise is the human spirit of which many persons are yet to grapple with. A distorted earth body not in alignment with its animating core is in a state of confusion or bewilderment and the entire architecture is soul-body spirit useless for the purpose for which the spirit kernel or spark is on earth. Lucky is it if it does not die off like the sparks which fly out of a fire place. If the distortion is grave enough, the body may even begin to alter its genitalia, and this is the basis of sex change through surgery, before which many persons stand bewildered, fascinated or applauding... a wasted earth-life!
The distorted male spirit transforms its inner coverings to female forms after which the external physical earth body would shape or re-shape itself. Such men, like their counterpart distorted female souls, are not difficult to distinguish from normal men through physical characteristics, especially in the lower trunk, apart from their effeminate nature.
Beyond sexual healing
Let us leave behind arguments about whether animal acts of the body can heal the spirit and Mavin Gaye’s disastrous end which proves this impossible, and address the reality on our hands...women who are not responsive to sex, and may not be, even in this season of sex, and men, young and old, who are nervous in the bedroom because they are too old or too cold for the fiery ravenous flame beside them.
As I said earlier, women who imitate men lose their womanliness, even if gradually, and may dry up in the place which matters most to an agile man. This is the big VD, as Judy Lindberg Mc Farland calls vaginal dryness in her book, Aging without growing old, co-authored with Laura Mc Farland. This may be addressed with Aloe Vera soft gel inserts, coconut oil, sea buckthorn oil and vitamin E soft gel, for example, any as an insert overnight, if the problem is from the body and not from gender distortion from within. Black cohosh, Vitex etc as food supplements may help to balance hormones.
Stress is often the cause of frigidity in women. As in men, it consumes the stress hormones produced by the adrenal glands. To not collapse under stress, with little or no stress hormones, the body converts sex hormones to Stress hormones. With the sex hormones depleted, libido collapses and frigidity sets in.
The robbing of Peter to pay Paul may cause hormonal imbalances among the estrogens (estriol, estrone and estradiol) on one hand, and, on the other, among the estrogens, progesterone and the Androgens ( the male hormone precursors). Such ratio imbalances may have far reaching impacts on ovarian and ovulation questions, painful cycles, scanty periods and excessive bleeding, uterine collapse or prolapse (collapse), incompetent cervix and habitual abortions, pre-term births and still births, pre menstrual syndrome and breast questions to mention only a few possible challenges associated with female hormonal questions.
Between the 1980s and early 2000s, a proprietary plant medicine named Damiana Ginseng made the waves in Nigeria. It made women more sex sensitive and, in some ways, helped to resolve frigidity questions. That was the era of the the market breakthrough for Ginseng. There were arguments over which Ginseng was best for the fragile nature of a woman’s body. Certainly, it was not the firestorm panax ginseng, also called Korean or Asian ginseng or the equally roaring Siberian Ginseng also known as eleuthero, but the cooling and calming American ginseng. So, the supposedly softer American Ginseng suffused the women’s Ginseng market. Today, we know of newer ginseng classifications for the genders. Black Ginseng for men and Red Ginseng for women. Both genders may top up with Ashwagandah, Peruvian Macca and Zinc.
