2027: Ajimobi’s wife, APC guber aspirants, stakeholders tinker on way forward

There are indications that stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State chapter are making efforts to ensuring unity in the party in the aftermath of the emergence of the would-be party flagbearer in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The party moved a step closer in that direction following a meeting called by a party chierlftain and wife of the first two term governor of the state, Dr Florence Ajimobi.
It was gathered that, the Nigeria’s ambassador to Austria met the stakeholders at her late husband’s Ikoyi, Lagos residence on Monday.
It was gathered that the meeting had in attendance, the party's governorship candidate in the 2023 election, Senator Teslim Folarin; former deputy governor, Rauf Olaniyan, Senators representing Oyo North and South districts, AbdulFatai Buhari and Sharafadeen Alli respectively; former Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ibadan branch, Akeem Agbaje; lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency Remi Oseni; minister of power, Bayo Adelabu; party leader Fatai Ibikunle; state party chairman, Moses Adeyemo and party chieftain, Idris Adeoye.
Others are: Oyo South senatorial aspirant, Kolapo Kola-Daisi; former lawmaker representing Afijio state constituency, Seyi Adisa; former deputy national youth leader of the party, Afeez Bolaji Repete; son of the ambassador, Idris Ajimobi; media aide to the power minister, Bolaji Tunji among others.
Sources hinted that a key resolution made at the meeting was commitment to be loyal to whosoever emerged as the party's choice after due consultation with national leadership of the party, particularly, President Bola Tinubu.
The meeting, it vwas gathered started around 11AM and lasted till around 2:3PM.
According to a source privy to the meeting, the stakeholders agreed that the process to choose candidates for the party must be all-inclusive.
Additionally, it was agreed that the President should be visited and hear from him rather than through the third party about his recommendations and advice for the state.
As at the time no official statement has been made as to the meeting and it's outcome.
