Critical stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency on Thursday expressed their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the lawmaker representing the constituency, Hon. Paul Adeboye Kalejaiye, for a second term in office.

According to a statement issued on Friday by Valiant Samson Idowu-Alaba, the endorsement, which took place at the Local Authority Primary School, Ago-Hausa in Ajegunle, drew a cheering crowd of thousands of party members and leaders from all 11 electoral wards,  traditional rulers, artisans, community leaders, market leaders, youth groups, and representatives of ethnic blocs such as Arewa, Ndigbo, and South-South communities, across the constituency.

The statement described the gathering as a significant signal of the direction of support ahead of the party's primary elections.

Speaking at the event, former Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, Bashorun Fatai Ayoola, acknowledged that while public office holders may have their shortcomings, such challenges are not insurmountable. He expressed confidence that any perceived gaps in Hon. Kalejaiye's performances over the past three years would be addressed if given another mandate.

Ayoola further emphasized the importance of sustaining support for President Tinubu, noting that Lagos, as his home state, must continue to play a leading role in consolidating his administration. He subsequently moved a motion endorsing both the President and the incumbent lawmaker for re-election, which was unanimously affirmed by stakeholders through a voice vote and a show of hands.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Prince Taiwo Adenekan, also commended the Kalejaiye, describing the large turnout as a testament to his growing acceptance and connection with the people.

In his remarks, a member of the Governor's Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Rabiu Oluwa, called for unity within the party and lauded supporters for their orderly and peaceful conduct throughout the event.

Addressing the gathering, Kalejaiye expressed gratitude to constituents and party faithful for their support during his first term, noting that their backing was instrumental to his electoral success. He formally declared his intention to seek re-election, assuring stakeholders of his commitment to improved representation and continued service.

He also urged party members to sustain grassroots mobilisation efforts in the lead-up to the primaries, stressing the importance of unity and collective action in securing victory.
