The Coordinator of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, Chief Ahmed Ajibola, has said the group is targeting at least one million votes in the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.

Ajibola disclosed this in Ibadan during a programme organised by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Tribune Chapel, themed “Tribune Discourse.”

He explained that the movement plans to establish about 1,000 members in each of the 351 wards across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State.

According to him, if each member is able to mobilise two or three additional voters, the group would comfortably achieve its one-million-vote target for the President.

He said the group’s support for Tinubu was informed by what it described as the impact of his administration’s policies and reforms.

“President Tinubu’s policies and reforms have brought relief and comfort to many families, and we believe his administration has done well. He deserves another term,” Ajibola said.

He added that the movement is committed to promoting good governance, which he noted aligns with the objectives of the current administration.

Ajibola also stated that the initiative is designed as a grassroots structure aimed at strengthening the connection between political leadership and citizens at the community level.

He further said the movement seeks to encourage greater youth participation in politics across wards, local government areas, states, and the federal level.

He said, "Our Movement want to encourage Nigerian youths to participate actively in election without discrimination, we want them to get involve in task of nation building.

"The Movement is not just for the elites but for everyone as long as they have positive mindset, we want Nigerians to be we informed and propagate the policies of President Tinubus administration.

"We have been engaging the youths at the grassroot and empower them on capacity building and personal development, this Movement is a support group and not a political part, its a movement that welcome all Nigerian youths."
