A medic, Ohida Farouk Omeiza, popularly known as Farouk Suleiman Obajera, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections in Okehi and Adavi local government areas of Kogi State.  .

The declaration, which took place at Ikaraworo, attracted party leaders, stakeholders, youth and women groups, traditional rulers, and supporters from across the Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency.

Farouk expressed gratitude to God and acknowledged key political figures, including Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his predeccessor Yahaya Bello, describing them as “instrumental leaders in the state’s political landscape.”

He stated that his ambition is driven by a call to service and the growing demand for effective and accountable representation in the constituency.

According to him, Adavi and Okehi are blessed with enormous human and natural resources but continue to face challenges such as youth unemployment, poor infrastructure, limited agricultural support, and inadequate representation at the federal level.

Unveiling his policy direction, the aspirant introduced a five-point development plan tagged the “PEACE Agenda,” focusing on People Empowerment, Education and Health, Agriculture and Commerce, Constituency Infrastructure, and Effective Representation.

He pledged to facilitate federal opportunities for youths and women, attract developmental projects to schools and health centers, support farmers and traders with access to funding, and ensure visible infrastructure across both local governments.

Farouk also promised transparency and accessibility, assuring constituents that he would maintain an open-door policy and provide regular updates on constituency allocations and projects.

Appealing for unity, he emphasised that his representation would prioritise collective progress over sectional interests, stating that “there will be no Adavi or Okehi, only one united constituency.”
