A socio-political group, Conscience of Ondo South, has called for careful consultation and inclusiveness in political decision-making as the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by its convener, Mogbojuri Kayode Adekunle, the group emphasized the importance of presenting a candidate for the Ondo South senatorial seat who reflects the preferences of key stakeholders in the district, following the expected transition of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.

The group described the selection process as a significant test for party cohesion and electoral strength in Ondo State.

It also highlighted concerns about equitable representation within the district, noting that stakeholders should consider existing political arrangements when making decisions about candidate selection.

The group urged party leaders to engage broadly with stakeholders across Ondo South to ensure unity and avoid actions that could create divisions within the party.

According to the statement, efforts are ongoing among stakeholders in the region to promote dialogue and consensus-building in the lead-up to the party’s primaries.
