A youth-led political advocacy group, One North Movement, has pledged to mobilise youths in the country for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during the official launch of the group in Abuja yesterday, the group’s leader, Abba Ali, said the movement was established to educate citizens—especially young people—about government policies and encourage peaceful political participation in accordance with democratic principles and the rule of law.

He stated that the organisation would hold town hall meetings across different states, promote voter education, and sensitise citizens on the importance of obtaining Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participating in credible elections.

He said group will collaborate with civil society organisations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote unity, peace, and inter-communal understanding, particularly across Northern Nigeria.

According to him, the movement is not only focused on politics but also on empowering youths through education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship programs, and civic engagement.

The group also pledged to educate the public on the impact of government policies in key sectors such as the economy, security, and employment, urging citizens to actively contribute to national development.

“Nigeria’s youth population accounts for over 60% of the country’s total population, making youth mobilization a critical factor in electoral outcomes. President Bola Tinubu, elected in 2023, has introduced major economic reforms including fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate unification, which have sparked national debates and political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections,” he added.
