A 50-year-old international entrepreneur and economic figure, Osifo Stanley, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Stanley, an indigene of Edo State, launched his campaign themed “Metamorphosis 2027,” pledging to address Nigeria’s economic challenges through a strategic focus on security and fiscal discipline.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the aspirant described himself as a patriotic Nigerian driven by a vision to position the country among the world’s leading nations.

He said his ambition is anchored on integrity and a solid understanding of global economic recovery models.

He emphasised that no sector can thrive without economic stability and security, outlining a two-pronged approach to tackling the nation’s challenges.

“We are aware that the economy encapsulates all human activities. There is no sphere of human existence that is devoid of economic elements,” Stanley said. “Similarly, every society seeks peaceful and harmonious living. A secure environment is fundamental to sound economic structuring.”

He expressed concern over the current state of the nation, pledging targeted interventions to ease what he described as a tense and fragile socio-economic climate.

Stanley outlined a broad development agenda covering agriculture, mining, healthcare, education, and power.

He proposed decentralising the power sector and conducting a comprehensive audit of key industrial assets, including the Ajaokuta Steel Company.

On the rising cost of living, he promised deliberate and strategic policies to strengthen the purchasing power of citizens and reduce poverty levels.

“The purchasing power of our currency will be strengthened through well-structured policies. Poverty will be reduced, and hunger addressed through coordinated macro and microeconomic initiatives,” he said.

The “Metamorphosis” agenda also includes reforms in the social sector. Stanley pledged to fully implement the National Health Act and leverage partnerships with international organisations such as UNICEF and USAID to combat communicable diseases.

In education, he promised to sustain the Federal Teachers Scheme allowance and upgrade libraries nationwide to support research and innovation.

“We will provide financial and material support to educational institutions to enhance research capacity and develop solutions to national challenges,” he added.

He further called for reforms in governance, pledging to eliminate nepotism and uphold the Federal Character Principle in the management of national affairs.

"We will work on our political system to metamorphose into acceptable, fair, free and democratic dominated enterprise," Stanley declared. "The voice and will of the people of Nigeria must prevail in every political, governance and leadership consideration."

Addressing the nation's security challenges, Stanley proposed a blend of high-level diplomacy and modern technology.

"We shall engage in extensive dialogue with stakeholders in different regions to ensure stability... We shall enhance intelligence gathering using human and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a critical aspect of national security."

Stanley then made passionate appeal to Nigerians to volunteer and support his vision for a "sane value society."

"I have strong conviction the time has come for our great nation to metamorphose. I seek support from all political, economic, social and religious bodies to support and vote Osifo Stanley as Flagbearer and thereafter as President in 2027," he concluded.
