The lawmaker representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has intensified consultations with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and traditional rulers in Obudu and Obanliku Local Government Areas, mobilising support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Bassey Otu, and himself.
During the engagements, the senator urged constituents to back President Tinubu's reform agenda and Governor Otu's economic blueprint, describing both as critical to improving living standards across the district.
According to a statement issued by his media team in Abuja on Sunday, Jarigbe told party faithful and traditional leaders in Obudu that the re-election bid of the trio is anchored on performance and service delivery, rather than regional considerations.
He recalled his role in advocating for the governorship to shift to the Northern Senatorial District, a move that led to the emergence of an Obudu indigene as governor, noting that his current priority is attracting federal projects to drive grassroots development.
In Obanliku, the senator received a warm reception from the Traditional Rulers Council and party leadership, where he described the visit as part of ongoing consultations ahead of the next electoral cycle.
“The good thing is that, after the last election, we did not wait until the next election before coming back. We have been coming, and we have been working. We are here to interface with you and reaffirm our commitment to delivering even more projects if given another mandate,” he said.
Stakeholders in both local government areas expressed support for the senator, citing infrastructural projects executed during his tenure, including the Amukwong Bridge in Alege/Ubang, road constructions in Igwo and Betukwel, town hall projects, and various human capital development initiatives.
Paramount rulers and APC chapter chairmen in the areas commended Jarigbe’s inclusive approach and sustained engagement, pledging continued support for his political ambitions and the broader goal of development in Cross River North.
