The Igala/Bassa Progressive Forum made up of professionals and seasoned politicians from Kogi East Senatorial District of Kogi State yesterday endorsed President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Ododo for second term.
The Forum at a press conference in Lokoja yesterday, declared that President Tinubu and Ododo deserved a second term in office because of their good leadership and delivery of democracy dividends to the people.
The Chairman of the Progressive Forum, Maximilian Tashilani, said the zone comprising nine local government areas has over 900,000 votes to deliver for President Tinubu and Ododo’s re-election as an appreciation for their achievements and for touching lives.

Tashilani declared: “As a body of professionals and seasoned politicians, we make bold to state from available records that in the past administrations, none has benefited the Igala/Bassa people like leadership of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, hence, our overwhelming support for his re-election in 2027.
“Tinubu’s administration has ensured increased political representation and empowerment by appointing qualified personnel from Igala/Bassa region into key positions, like the Minister of Steel Development, the Chief of Army Staff and many others.

“Tinubu’s economic reforms and introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NEFFUND) as well as other youth-centered initiatives, including Free Trade Zone, Kogi Cargo Airport of which Igala/Bassa people are great beneficiaries is worthy of commendation
“The Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is being replicated at the state level through investments in agriculture, healthcare, and education .’’

The Forum appreciated the governor for keying into the developmental agenda of the Federal Government to take care of the plight of the citizens since assumption of office.
‘’The forum acknowledged Ododo’s giant strides in education, healthcare, Agriculture, youth and women empowerment, among others.
“When you have somebody who is performing, the only thing you can do to encourage that fellow is to endorse him for continuity in office .And this is what we have done for President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.
“ As there is always room for improvement in any human endeavour, we shall appeal to Governor Ododo to help us look into the state of our rural roads in the Senatorial District.
“In our Senatorial District alone, we have 900, 000 votes which we have promised both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo in appreciation of their kind attention and the development they have brought to us there.”
The Forum added that it would mobilise the residents of the Senatorial District and the state to vote for President Tinubu and governor Ododo in next year’s general election .
