Lawmakers of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have backed the choice of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada by Governor Abdullahi Sule as his preferred successor in next year’s general election.

Speaker of the Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, stated this yesterday at the Assembly complex while briefing reporters shortly after the 11th Caucus Meeting of APC Lawmakers.

Jatau said lawmakers of the APC extraction would support and work hard for Wadada to emerge the APC Governorship Candidate and subsequently win the general elections to succeed Sule in 2027.

The speaker urged the people to support Wadada too to succeed.

“We have discussed a range of issues involving unity, peace and progress of the party as well as the recent endorsement of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada by Governor Abdullahi Sule as his preferred successor.

“I want to appreciate Governor Abdullahi Sule for what he is doing in the state. He is handling the affairs of the state in a good way. We commend him for that. So, we are fully supporting and backing Senator Wadada as Governor Sule’s successor in 2027.

“This is because during consultations by APC governorship aspirants, we told them that we are going to support any aspirant that the governor anointed,” he said

Jatau also appealed to other governorship aspirants to accept the decision of the governor and support Wadada to succeed.

He appealed to other APC governorship aspirants to rally round Wadada.
