Foremost philanthropist and corporate leader, Mrs. Remi Odunsi, has announced her intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing the Kosofe Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

Odunsi, a private sector executive, holds a degree in Management and Accounting from the University of Ife and is an ACCA-certified professional. She has also participated in executive programs at the Lagos Business School, Harvard, and EDHEC.

She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eridan Group and serves on the boards of several local and international firms, including Mascot Insurance Brokers and Executive Coach Builders (USA).

Declaring her intention, Odunsi said her decade-long involvement in grassroots development has established her presence across Lagos. She noted that in 2023, her empowerment programmes benefited over 4,000 people, while a 2024 partnership with Lotus Bank supported market women through the Street Business School initiative.

Explaining her decision to enter politics, Odunsi said legislative authority would enhance the scale and impact of her community-focused interventions.

“I have been doing this work for years without holding public office," Odunsi stated during her declaration. "Imagine what becomes possible when someone with a genuine passion for service and a heart for the people is elected into the National Assembly.

"If we are to transform lives at scale in Kosofe Federal Constituency, we must have a seat at the table—particularly at the National Assembly, where laws are made, and policies are shaped.”

Odunsi’s campaign is built on a 7-point legislative agenda designed to bridge the gap between policy and the people.

According to her, the key pillars of her manifesto include digital empowerment by establishing two Digital Skills and Enterprise Centers to train 10,000 youth in Kosofe; sponsoring legislation to expand women’s access to enterprise finance and to ensure expanded access for women and children; and implementing food security initiatives to lower the cost of nutrition.

Her economic modernization plan aims to facilitate federal infrastructure for Kosofe’s markets and formalize 3,000 MSMEs, linking them to credit and digital commerce.

The 2023 "Yessiey Philanthropist of the Year" awardee believes her global network and private sector discipline are exactly what the constituency needs to unlock its dormant potential.

“Kosofe has the people, the commercial energy, and the geographic position to be something remarkable. What it has needed is representation that matches its potential,” she noted.

Calling for partnership and trust, Odunsi said, “I am a woman you can trust. Kosofe's best chapter has not been written yet. I am asking for the opportunity to help write it.”
