The National Director of Women Mobilization for the Remi Tinubu Support Organization (RETSO) and renowned philanthropist, Hon. Remi Odunsi, (nee Oluwalogbon) has declared her intention to contest for House of Representatives under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent Kosofe Federal Constituency, Lagos.
Odunsi vowed to dedicate her selfless service towards providing purposeful and impactful leadership for the people of Kosofe federal constituency.
A statement by the aspirant noted that as a reputable grassroots politician known for her commitment to community service and women’s empowerment, she had served meritoriously as the National Director of RETSO and played active role in strengthening political participation and supporting inclusive leadership in Nigeria.

According to her, she is widely recognized for her philanthropic work, particularly in assisting the poor and vulnerable within her communitycommunity, adding that through various outreach efforts, she has contributed to social welfare initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and supporting families in need.
On why she is running for House of Reps, Odunsi stated that the platform will enable her scaled up impact of community development initiatives so as to give her the voice to effectively represent her people.
She said, "I have been doing these work for years without holding public office. Imagine what becomes possible when someone with genuine passion for service and a heart for the people is elected into the National Assembly.

"If we are to transform lives at scale in Kosofe Federal Constituency, we must have a seat at the table—particularly at the National Assembly, where laws are made and policies are shaped. That is why I am in the race for the House of Representatives.
"As representative of Kosofe federal constituency at the House of Representatives, i will brings strong connection to the grassroots and a clear understanding of local challenges. I will represents new direction focused on responsiveness, accessibility, and community development."

She stated that her aspiration had continues to gain attention as many view her as a leader committed to service and positive change.
Odunsi listed her 7-point legislative agenda which include facilitating two digital skills and Enterprise Centres targeting training of 10,000 young people across Kosofe, sponsoring legislation that expands women’s access to enterprise finance, and expansion of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) covering pregnant women and children under five.
Others are: Championing Federal infrastructure investment in Kosofe’s major markets alongside the Micro Small and Medium Scale (MSME) formalization of 3,000 businesses linked to credit and digital commerce infrastructure, amongst others.
“Kosofe has the people, the commercial energy and the geographic position to be something remarkable. What it has needed is representation that matches its potential. I am a woman you can trust. Kosofe's best chapter has not been written yet. I am asking for the opportunity to help write it.
"I'm a graduate of Management & Accounting from the University of Ife. I holds an ACCA certification, with executive programs from Lagos Business School, Harvard, and EDHEC. My diverse investment portfolio includes founder and CEO at Eridan Group, along with non-executive board positions at Mascot Insurance Brokers, Executive Coach Builders (USA), and Lighthouse Group.
"I has craved a niche for myself as a community development advocate, spearheading a skills acquisition and empowerment programme impacting over 4,000 beneficiaries across Ketu, Ikeja, and Epe in 2023. I also partnered with Lotus Bank to train and provide grant funding to market women through the Street Business School initiative in 2024.
"Through my “Threefold Impact”, i have installed solar-powered boreholes across Lagos, Ogun, and Ibadan, supported school renovations, and impacted over 5,000 families through annual food distribution programmes."
Odunsi was a recipient of the 2023 Yessiey Philanthropist of the Year Award and widely recognized as one of Africa’s most influential women in international development, she brings to the race a wealth of private sector experience, strong family values, and extensive global networks, all of which she intends to leverage for effective representation.
