Serving and former governors, including Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Senator Gbenga Daniel, and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday joined other caucus members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State for a strategic meeting at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta.

Also in attendance were senators Tolu Odebiyi, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Akin Odunsi, and Shuaib Salisu, among other party stakeholders.

The meeting was held under heavy security, with hundreds of armed operatives drawn from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), alongside plainclothes personnel, deployed to secure the venue.

Security operatives faced difficulty managing a large crowd of supporters who gathered at the entrance, leading to prolonged traffic gridlock in the area, further compounded by a heavy downpour.

Convened by the state APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, the meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to address internal grievances, strengthen party unity, and evaluate the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Attendance was restricted to officially recognised members of the State Caucus, in line with party protocols.
