A leading All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Saheed Oladele, hosted party members, loyalists, and supporters to an Eid get-together in Ibadan on Saturday, using the occasion to strengthen political ties and share his vision ahead of the 2027 elections.

Oladele, Chairman/CEO of Erudite Group of Schools and the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland, welcomed guests from across the state, describing the gathering as an opportunity to celebrate the festive season while fostering unity within the party. He emphasized the importance of cohesion among APC stakeholders as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.

Addressing attendees, the young aspirant reflected on the milestones that have shaped his political journey. He disclosed that his decision to venture into active politics was inspired during his Umrah pilgrimage in 2023, when he was urged to pray about becoming the next governor of Oyo State.

The call to leadership became more compelling one year later, following encouragement from a prominent political figure who gave Saheed Oladele five reasons he should represent the younger generation in governance.

Oladele also highlighted his conferment with the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ chieftaincy title in 2023 by the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator Lekan Ishola Balogun, as a defining moment that elevated his public profile and deepened his engagement in state politics.

He used the occasion to reassure Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has good intentions for Nigeria, while expressing confidence in the administration’s commitment to addressing the country’s challenges. Reiterating his message, Oladele declared that the 2027 elections in Oyo State would signal a paradigm shift in the state's political landscape.

Some distinguished attendees gave goodwill messages at the gathering. Dr. Luqman Fasasi, Chairman of the Political Awareness Group (PAG), stated that the Muslim Community of Oyo State is proud of Saheed Oladele.

Dr. Rasheed Fasasi, who recently retired as the Principal of Ibadan Boys High School, said he supports Saheed Oladele's governorship ambition because of his integrity and practical achievements in education.

Engr Bankole Olusoji Ladele, Chairman of Team Nigeria Ambassadors for Tinubu/Shettima (TNA), stated that he received the instruction to work for Saheed Oladele while with another governorship aspirant, and he confirmed that Oloye Oladele is well-positioned to secure the APC gubernatorial ticket ahead of other aspirants.

Mr Solomon Olasunkanmi, a retired principal of Oke 'Badan High School, said that Saheed Oladele's passion for education attracted him to the Irede project. He narrated how the Baàmèkó of Ibadanland paid for Oke 'Badan High School's 5-year NECO accreditation on behalf of the Oyo State Government, bailing the school out—a gesture acknowledged by the State's Ministry of Education.

The Eid gathering attracted notable APC leaders and members who spoke at the event, including Alhaji Adegboyega Isiaka (aka Santana), Mr. Tunde Kolapo, Mrs. Shakirat Arinola (APC Ibarapa Central Women Leader), Mrs. Fasilat Adesina (SSA to Ekiti State Governor on Grassroots Mobilization from Oluyole LGA), Alhaja Aminat Morakinyo, Dr. Moshood Abiola Ajala, and others.

Other attendees who spoke at the event included Alhaji Abdulrahman Balogun, Director of Media and Public Relations, NIDCOM, Pastor Feyisetan Akintayo, President of Grassroots Pastors Mobilization of Nigeria, and Eniola Sisi Alagbo, a brand influencer.

Other speakers included Dr. Soji Oyeranmi, Mrs. Theresa Akinwande, Reverend Dele Leke, Reverend Ayo Abel, Reverend Abiodun Adiromola, and Mrs. Mary Fikayo Oloyede.
