Former Deputy Senate President, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, has charged supporters and party faithful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to mobilise for a comprehensive electoral victory across the country.
He called for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the party's primaries.
Addressing a large and enthusiastic gathering in Oromurhu-Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Omo-Agege confirmed that he has bowed to mounting pressure from his constituents to recontest the Delta Central Senatorial seat.
He clarified that his presence at the event was not to formally announce his ambition, noting that the announcement had already been made.
“Yesterday (Wednesday), I yielded to the sustained appeals and yearnings of our people by offering myself once again as a candidate for the 2027 senatorial election to represent Delta Central.
“I did not come here today to make any new declaration; that declaration was made yesterday. I only deemed it necessary to return home and personally express my appreciation to you all for your support,” he added.

The former lawmaker expressed gratitude for the show of solidarity he received upon his arrival at the Osubi Airport and on his way to his ancestral home, describing it as overwhelming.
Reflecting on his political trajectory, Omo-Agege credited his past electoral victories in 2015 and 2019 to the unwavering backing of his constituents.
“In 2015, when I first presented myself for service, you stood firmly behind me and ensured my victory. In 2019, you once again demonstrated your confidence in me, leading to my re-election. I remain indebted to you for your prayers and steadfast support,” he said.
The former lawmaker listed key projects attracted during his tenure, including the Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, and the Nigerian Defence Space School, Orogun, as well as the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale.
“The Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, stands today as a testament to our commitment. It is not merely an institution in name; it is fully established and functional, completed within a remarkably short period of two and a half years.
“Similarly, the Nigerian Defence Space School is not just a concept on paper; it is fully built, operational, and contributing meaningfully to national development.”

“Recognising the long-standing demands of our brothers and sisters in Delta North, I leveraged my position to ensure the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale. Today, it is fully operational and has already conducted its first matriculation ceremony,” he said.
On economic development, he singled out the Oil and Gas Industrial Park project as a game changer, noting that “it will deliver 24-hour electricity to communities including Orogun, Abraka, Eku, and beyond, thereby driving economic growth,” he stated.
Omo-Agege maintained that his tenure ensured inclusive representation across Delta Central and stressed the importance of assertive legislative engagement, noting that constituents expect more than passive representation.
“Our people have made it clear that it is not enough to merely occupy a seat; they desire a strong and audible voice in the Senate. That was the representation I provided in the 8th and 9th Senate, and by the grace of God, that voice will resonate again in the 11th Senate,” he declared.
On party unity, the APC chieftain urged members to embrace new entrants and avoid internal divisions, asserting thus: “As more individuals, including former members of other parties, join the APC, we must embrace them fully. There should be no room for division or discrimination.”

Expressing confidence ahead of the 2027 general elections, he stated: “We will work collectively and relentlessly to ensure the return of all APC candidates—from the presidency to the governorship, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the State Houses of Assembly,” he affirmed.
He added that local campaign strategies would be aggressively pursued, stating, “In Ughelli North, our objective remains ‘six over six,’ while in other local governments, we aim for ‘five over five.’ This reflects our commitment to total victory.”
Omo-Agege also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu, praising his administration’s reforms.
“The economic policies introduced by President Tinubu have significantly increased resources available to states. While the reforms may be challenging, they are necessary and will ultimately yield positive outcomes for our people,” he said.
Calling for grassroots mobilisation, he said, “My appeal to all of you is to return to your respective wards, organise yourselves, and be ready to participate actively in the primaries. The choice of who represents you in 2027 rests in your hands.”
