2027: Ondo community urges Aiyedatiwa to include Ebijaw Ward Six in zoning arrangement
Indigenes of Ebijaw Ward Six in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State have called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to consider the ward in the ‘zoning arrangement’ for the 2027

Indigenes of Ebijaw Ward Six in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State have called on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to consider the ward in the 'zoning arrangement' for the 2027 House of Assembly election.
In an open letter signed by Donald Irene, addressed to Aiyedatiwa on Friday, they commended the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration's commitment to fairness, equity and inclusive governance.
The indigenes explained that Governor Aiyedatiwa's leadership has continued to inspire confidence among grassroots populations in the state.

The community, however, lamented the prolonged marginalisation of the ward in the sharing of key political offices in the council area.
They noted that among the eleven wards in Odigbo Local Government Area, Ebijaw Ward Six has yet to produce occupants of major positions.
According to them, the positions include: chairman and secretary of the council, member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, personal assistants to the governor, and member of the House of Representatives.
They also argued that the persistent exclusion of Ward Six has created a sense of disenfranchisement among residents of the ward, despite their contributions to political development and electoral successes in the area and the state at large.

The letter read in part: "In the spirit of justice, fairness, and equitable representation, we passionately appeal to Your Excellency to use your good office to ensure that Ebijaw Ward Six is considered as a beneficiary of the Zoning Arrangement for the forthcoming 2027 House of Assembly election in Odigbo Local Government Area whereof virtually all the Wards have benefitted this Zoning Arrangement politically except Ebijaw Ward Six amongst the Eleven(11), Wards."
The community affirmed that granting the request would correct longstanding imbalances, promote fairness, and strengthen unity and inclusiveness within the local government.
"We firmly believe that granting this request will not only correct longstanding imbalances but also strengthen unity, foster inclusiveness, and deepen democratic participation within the Local Government.
"Your Excellency, this Appeal is made in good faith and with confidence in your well-known commitment to justice and balanced governance. We shall remain grateful for your kind consideration and favourable response," it further read.
They, however, expressed optimism that their appeal would receive favourable consideration, citing the governor's reputation for balanced governance and justice.
