The lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Aderemi Oseni, has said his aspiration to contest the Oyo South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections is aimed at delivering enhanced development to the district.
Oseni described his entry into the race as a mission to restore confidence in governance.
Speaking to All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and supporters in Ibadan during his official declaration, he said his ambition was driven by service and a commitment to empowering the people.
He noted that his tenure in the House of Representatives has been marked by infrastructure projects and initiatives targeted at improving the welfare of his constituents.
According to him, projects executed in road construction, bridges, and school renovations across Ido and Ibarapa demonstrate his capacity to deliver on a broader scale across the nine local government areas in Oyo South.
He said, "I am here to tell you that I have served, and I want to serve again with even greater responsibility. I come with humility to answer a call from God. For me, politics is for service, not for self-enrichment.
"I represent you to bring hope and the development you deserve. We have made 40 youths millionaires in my current constituency to grow the local economy, and we are ready to replicate this miracle across the entire senatorial district.”
The lawmaker, who described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his mentor and source of strength, urged APC to remain united ahead of the 2027 polls.

He warned against internal divisions, stating that a unified party is the only vehicle capable of reclaiming total leadership in the Oyo state and ensuring Tinubu's second-term victory.
Oseni highlighted his commitment to the vulnerable, citing his ongoing financial assistance to market women, artisans, and youth across his constituency.
He assured people of Oyo South that his move to the Red Chamber is about responsibility and a new course of governance that prioritizes the welfare of the masses over political ego.
With his formal entry into the race and the endorsement of party heavyweights, Oseni has signaled a formidable challenge for the Oyo South ticket, built on a promise of bringing the Ido/Ibarapa miracle to the heart of the district.
Dignitaries at the event include APC gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, and Hon. Abdulmojeed Olaoya among others.
