Thousands of people of Yamaltu/Deba, one of the two Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Gombe Central Senatorial District, have thrown their weight behind Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje to return to the Senate, citing his experience and performance.
Gombe Central Senatorial District comprises two local government areas: Akko and Yamaltu/Deba. Senator Goje, a former Governor of Gombe State, represents the Senatorial District in the Red Chamber.
Addressing newsmen in Gombe on behalf of the people of the area's 11 wards in Yamaltu/Deba, Dr Newton Moses said the people of the area are fully behind the return of Senator Goje to the Senate come 2027.

Dr Moses, who read a letter from the people of the local government area to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said that with Senator Goje on the ballot, they will overwhelmingly vote for the APC on January 16, 2027, during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
“We, the good people of Yamaltu/Deba, write this memorandum as law-abiding citizens, committed democrats, and unwavering loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC). We are proud supporters of the administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and remain resolute in our dedication to the ideals of good governance, stability, and sustainable national development.
“Our position is guided by patriotism, democratic principles, and a sincere desire to see our constituency, our state, and our nation continue to benefit from experienced, competent, and result-driven leadership.
“It is in this regard that we passionately and unequivocally express our support for the continuity of Distinguished Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Democracy, by its very nature, thrives on representation, experience, and the will of the people. It is important to emphasise that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not impose any zoning limitation or tenure restriction on membership in the National Assembly," they said.

The people added, "Therefore, the issue of continuity should not be viewed through restrictive or artificial frameworks, but rather through the lens of competence, performance, and the collective will of the electorate.
“Distinguished Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje stands as a towering figure whose years of legislative experience have translated into tangible dividends of democracy for Gombe Central and beyond.
“His deep understanding of legislative processes, policy formulation, and national governance positions him to continue delivering high-quality representation at the highest level. Continuity in leadership, especially in a legislative environment, is not merely desirable; it is essential."
The people of Yamaltu/Deba said lawmaking is a complex and evolving process that benefits immensely from institutional memory, strategic relationships, and procedural mastery.
According to them, Senator Goje has, over the years, built invaluable networks and acquired the experience necessary to effectively advocate for his constituency's interests and contribute meaningfully to national development.
“By returning Senator Goje to the Senate, Gombe Central stands to gain even more. His seniority and established influence will ensure greater access to federal opportunities, increased developmental projects, and stronger representation in critical national decisions. Experience, in this context, is not just an asset; it is a strategic advantage.
“Furthermore, democracy is fundamentally about numbers and the will of the people. Senator Goje commands widespread support across Gombe Central, reflecting the trust, confidence, and endorsement of the electorate. Ignoring this reality would not only undermine democratic principles but also disenfranchise the very people whose voices must be respected."
They reaffirmed their loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and support for the administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
