The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 41 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers, rescued seven victims and recovered firearms and rustled cattle in sustained operations across the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, who made this known at a press conference, said the feats were recorded between March and this month through intelligence-led policing and coordinated raids.

He said the Command also recovered 24 firearms, 200 rounds of ammunition and 50 rustled cows while dismantling several criminal networks operating in different parts of the state.

Highlighting key breakthroughs, the police chief said operatives arrested a suspected gunrunner in Kagarko and recovered 20 dane guns from him.

In a separate operation in Makarfi, he said two suspected kidnappers were arrested after intelligence linked them to abductions around Tashan Yari village.

Muhammad added that multiple informants aiding bandits were also picked up in Kachia, Giwa and Kauru local government areas, noting that such collaborators played critical roles in facilitating kidnappings.

The Command also recorded arrests in homicide-related cases, with two suspects tracked and apprehended in Zaria over alleged involvement in killings in Giwa Local Government Area.

On arms trafficking, the CP said operatives intercepted a consignment of 200 rounds of ammunition concealed in a sack of guinea corn, leading to the arrest of two suspects from Zamfara State.

He further said a notorious drug dealer and gang member terrorising Rigasa and adjoining areas was arrested during a joint operation with the Strike Force.

In Kubau, two suspected kidnappers linked to attacks in Pambegua, Zuntu and Dutsen Wai were arrested in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

The police also arrested suspected cattle rustlers in Soba and Giwa local government areas, recovering 20 stolen cows during a well-coordinated ambush operation.

Similarly, operatives of Operation Fushin Kada smashed criminal gangs involved in armed robbery, phone snatching and thuggery in Rigasa, arresting 13 suspects who confessed to multiple crimes.

Muhammad said additional arrests were made involving motorcycle snatchers, receivers of stolen items and a suspect caught stealing materials from a construction site at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

He said the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations, adding that efforts were ongoing to apprehend fleeing members of the syndicates.

The CP reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain the offensive against crime, urging residents to continue providing credible intelligence to security agencies for a safer Kaduna.
