A prominent Islamic body, the Academic of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP), has cautioned Nigerians to remain vigilant against attempts by politicians to exploit religion for electoral advantage ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The organisation, through its founder, Mallam Yusuf Adepoju, issued the warning on Sunday following his conferment as Agbesinga of Ede Land, noting that such practices could deepen divisions and threaten national cohesion.
Adepoju urged political actors to uphold integrity by fulfilling campaign promises, describing commitments made to the electorate as sacred obligations.

According to him, the country requires leaders who are driven by a sense of responsibility, humanitarian service, and the collective good of society.
