National Chairman of Accord, Maxwell Mgbuden, said yesterday that the party, which he described as the new bride of Nigerian politics, was focussed on winning Ekiti and Osun governorship elections, as well as the 2027 general election.

It asked Nigerians to ignore an insinuation of a crisis in the party.

Mgbuden, however, alerted people to the existence of those he described as political clown and jobbers working to mislead Nigerians with malicious fabrication to cause disaffection in the polity.

Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Mgbuden distanced the party from a recent protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by those he said were trying to create a none existent leadership crisis in the party.

He dismissed claims by Prof Christopher Imumolen to the leadership of the party, saying although he obtained injunction to take the leadership of the party in 2024, the same order was vacated one week after.

He said Imumolen failed to make himself available in court to respond to subsequent suits.
