The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has congratulated Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his second term inauguration.

The association pledged to support the administration’s healthcare transformation agenda.

In a statement, the association described Soludo’s re-election as an endorsement of his leadership and reform-driven governance by the people of the state.

ACPN said the renewed mandate reflects public confidence in the administration’s commitment to policies aimed at advancing development across key sectors, including healthcare, education, innovation, and technology.

The association noted that the governor’s governance philosophy aligns with the aspirations of community pharmacists, particularly in strengthening healthcare systems and improving access to quality medicines.

It commended the administration’s efforts to sanitise the pharmaceutical supply chain through the establishment of Coordinated Wholesale Centres (CWCs), including the flagship project in Oba, in line with the National Drug Distribution Guidelines (NDDG).

ACPN also hailed the state’s industrialisation drive in the health sector, citing the development of the 4,000-hectare Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City (AMIC) in Orumba and the proposed pharmaceutical hub in Ogboji as initiatives that would boost local drug manufacturing and research.

The body recalled the governor’s advocacy for local drug production as a pathway to national drug security and self-sufficiency, as well as his engagement with pharmaceutical firms such as May & Baker Nigeria Plc to promote indigenous research.

In a joint statement by ACPN National Secretary, Omokhafe Ashore, and Anambra State Chairman, Felix Enendu, the association appreciated the governor’s recognition of pharmacists as a critical pillar of healthcare delivery.

They recalled his description of pharmacists as the “heart of the healthcare delivery system” and his commitment to sustaining a pharmacy-friendly environment in the state.

ACPN said the administration’s business-friendly posture has begun attracting pharmaceutical investors, with plans for new manufacturing facilities and distribution depots in Onitsha expected to boost medicine availability and create jobs.

The National Chairman of ACPN, Ambrose Ezeh, reaffirmed the association’s readiness to collaborate with the state government to advance healthcare reforms and improve access to safe medicines.

He said Soludo’s re-election represents a collective victory for Ndị Anambra and expressed optimism that the administration would consolidate efforts to position the state as a hub for pharmaceutical innovation and healthcare development.
