Actress Mary Remmy Njoku has questioned the effectiveness of gentle parenting in managing children's behaviour.

In an Instagram post, Njoku expressed skepticism about negotiating with children whose brains are still developing.

She stated that explaining things to her children calmly doesn't yield lasting results.

“Please, who started this gentle parenting? Who gathered all of us and said we should now begin to negotiate with tiny humans whose brains are still under construction? Because explain to me why I'm calmly saying, 'Sweetheart, the glass centre table is not a stool……like I’m delivering a TED. Talk in a foreign language inside the Balogun market. Even my kids know this won’t last. Nope,” she stated.

Njoku's comments highlighted the ongoing debate on parenting styles, with some advocating for a more authoritative approach and others promoting gentle, empathetic methods.
