Senator Binos Yaroe, who represents Adamawa South Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly, has donated a 500KVA transformer each to 14 communities across the zone.

The senator said while inaugurating the transformer for Sabon Kasuwan Tudun Wada in Ganye Local Government Area, that he decided on the transformer intervention to address chronic power shortages in the zone.

He urged politicians to prioritise service over personal ambition, stressing that the essence of politics lies in improving the lives of the people.

“Any politician who comes into politics without a clear goal to serve will always miss the point, because all good politics is rooted in genuine service,” he said.

Binos, lamenting dilapidated road infrastructure and absence of key institutions in his constituency, equally lamented that the bill he proposed for the establishment of a federal university of education in Numan, one of the earliest bills in the 10th National Assembly, is yet to receive presidential assent.

Highlighting his other constituency projects, including provision of over 30 boreholes and the organisation of more than 13 major medical outreaches across the zone, each outreach of which he put at more than N60 million, Binos said he particularly derives deep fulfilment from service rather than political showmanship.

The paramount ruler of Ganye, the Gangwari of Ganye, Adamu Umaru Sanda, commended the senator’s interventions, describing him as a model representative whose commitment to grassroots development should serve as a benchmark for others.

A resident, Mrs Eunice Ethan, who said the community had initially thought the transformer was a government project, only to later find that it was facilitated by the senator, appreciated the senator:

“We are thankful for this support. It has brought relief to our people, and we hope other leaders will emulate this example.”
