The government and residents of Adamawa State are awaiting the arrival of President Bola Tinubu, who is scheduled to visit the state capital, Yola, on Monday morning.

The President is expected at the Yola airport at 11am before proceeding to inaugurate several projects executed by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. He is also slated to meet with selected groups during the visit.

Projects lined up for commissioning include a model basic education school; a major road cutting across Jimeta, the commercial hub of Yola; a remodelled High Court complex; and the expanded Government House, complete with a reconstructed main gate.

Tinubu is further billed to inaugurate a newly constructed orientation camp built by the state government for the National Youth Service Corps. He will also lay the foundation for the landmark project. The Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has reportedly arrived in Yola ahead of the ceremony.

In preparation for the visit, the Nigeria Police Force in the state on Sunday, February 15, announced the deployment of additional personnel and operational assets, particularly within the capital, to maintain security and public order.

The state government also issued a late Sunday advisory detailing temporary road closures to ensure smooth movement for the President’s convoy. Residents were urged to use alternative routes.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Iliya James, listed the affected routes as Airport–Kofare Road through Galadima Aminu Way/Bank Road, Jimeta Grade Interchange/Police Roundabout, Justice Buba Ardo Way, and Adamawa Sunshine Express–Faro Road.

"Residents are kindly urged to come out peacefully to welcome Mr. President to our dear state while motorists are advised to make use of alternative routes for their lawful activities during the period of  closure," the commissioner stated.
