The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Amuwo Odofin has dismissed reports alleging the suspension of a member of the House of Representatives, Omogeye Adegeye, describing the claim as false and misleading.

In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary in the local government, Ifechukwu Valentine, the party said the report, which circulated on social media platforms, was the handiwork of “enemies of the party” seeking to create confusion among members.

The statement insisted that Adegeye remains a bona fide member and leader of the party in Amuwo Odofin and has not been suspended for any anti-party activities.

It urged party faithful to disregard the report, stressing that it was a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and tarnish the lawmaker’s image.

“The lawmaker remains focused and committed to his legislative duties to the good people of Amuwo Odofin, and any form of blackmail will not distract him,” the statement said.

The party also cautioned members against engaging in heated exchanges over the issue, advising restraint to avoid actions that could lead to a breakdown of law and order.

ADC executives in the area, under the leadership of Emmanuel Okibie, said they are monitoring the situation and working with security agencies to identify those behind the alleged misinformation.
