The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a disclaimer over a planned zonal stakeholders’ meeting of the party.
The notice, signed by the National Vice Chairman, ADC South West Zone, Rahaman Owokoniran, was released late Monday night.
According to the statement, certain individuals described as anti-people and anti-democratic forces within the South Western states, in concert with a prominent traditional ruler, had concluded plans to inaugurate the South West executives on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Kankanfo Inn, off Ring Road, Ibadan.

Owokoniran said the alleged illegal and clandestine inauguration was aimed at destabilising the ADC in the South West zone, noting that it was in total disregard of the authority of the party’s national leadership.
He added that the Southwest caucus of the party had not convened any stakeholders’ meeting for the purpose of such an inauguration.
The zonal chairman described those behind the move as spent politicians not known to the ADC at the national, zonal, or state levels, and urged members across the South West to remain calm.

"For avoidance of doubt south West cuacus of ADC has not set up any Stakeholders' meeting for the purpose of an illegal Inauguration.
"These people are spent politicians and are not known to ADC both at National, Zonal and State level.
"We therefore urge our members across the South West States to stay calm."
