The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Labour Party(LP) yesterday announced N100 million and N50 million, respectively, as costs of their presidential nomination forms.
They also fixed dates for their primaries. ADC’s presidential primary will be held on May 25, while LP’s takes place on May 29.
LP’s National Assembly primary is scheduled on the same day.
But ADC’s National Assembly primaries will take place on May 21, and governorship primaries on May 22.
Primaries for governorship and House of Assembly positions on Labour’s platform will come up on May 27, the same day ADC fixed for its special national convention.
A ‘structured fee regime’released by ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi shows that each governorship aspirant will cough out N50 million for the nomination form.
Senate hopeful N20 million; House of Representatives aspirants, N10 million, and State Houses of Assembly, N3 million.

The party, however, introduced concessions for specific groups, granting a 50 per cent discount on nomination fees to youths interested in contesting state and National Assembly positions. Women and Persons Living With Disability(PLWDs) are entitled to a 25 per cent reduction.
Sale of nomination forms will begin tomorrow and end on May 10. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 and 15, after which the party will conduct its National Assembly primaries on May 21 and governorship primaries on May 22.
The timetable also indicates that pre-primary activities, including submission of forms and documentation, will run between April 30 and May 20, aligning administrative processes with the primary election window.
Abdullahi explained that ‘’the timetable reflects the party’s commitment to internal democracy, orderliness and full compliance with electoral guidelines.”
Sale of LP’s nomination forms will commence on Wednesday and close on May 16, while submission of completed forms will hold between May 17 and May 18. Screening of aspirants for House of Assembly and governorship positions is scheduled for May 20, and that of National Assembly and presidential aspirants, May 22.
The results will be published on May 23. Appeals and petitions arising from the shadow poll will be entertained on May 24 for House of Assembly and governorship aspirants and on May 25 for National Assembly and presidential aspirants.
The final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 26.
Abia State Governor Alex Otti will receive a free nomination form from LP’s National Working Committee(NWC), but any other member interested in becoming a governor will spend N25 million, made up of N5 million for expression of interest and N20 million for nomination.
Senate hopefuls are to pay N10 million and House of Representatives aspirants, N5 million.
The party also pegged the House of Assembly form at N3 million, comprising N1 million for expression of interest and N2 million for nomination.
LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, said concessions were granted to women, youths and PLWDs.
He said such aspirants are required to only pay for the expression of interest forms.
“Female, PLWDs and youths between 25 and 30 years shall only be required to pay for the Expression of Interest Forms for all categories of positions,” Asogwa said in a statement.
He urged ‘’all prospective aspirants for the 2027 elections who are yet to register as members to take advantage of the ongoing membership e-registration and register before midnight of Monday, 4th May, 2026.”
Also yesterday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) extended the deadline for the purchase of its expression of interest and nomination forms, earlier scheduled for today, to Thursday.
The final date for submission of completed forms, however, remains Saturday.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Jungudo Mohammed, made this known yesterday. advised all interested aspirants to take note of the extension and be guided accordingly
