Some leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo Central Senatorial District have defected to African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The former PDP leaders joined ADC at a well-attended event in Ewohimi, Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Led by Chief Clifford Eineh, the PDP defectors said their joining the ADC showed the beginning of political realignment ahead of the 2027 general election.
Former governorship aspirant in ADC, Ken Imansuagbon, thanked the ex-PDP leaders for taking their political destiny in their hands.

He said the electorate were prepared to stop the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general election.
Imansuagbon said the will of the people would prevail over any form of intimidation or oppression.
He said the wave of defections was a testament of the party’s acceptability among the people to support the ADC in taking over power.
A former governor of Edo State and National Legal Adviser of ADC, Prof Oserhimen Osunbor, said APC’s strength would not guarantee victory in future elections.
He said the promise of delivering 3.5 million votes in Edo State for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was unrealistic.
