It lauded President Bola Tinubu for what his “exemplary leadership and fatherly guidance” in fostering consensus in the party.

The statement said Tinubu’s role strengthened democratic cohesion and ensured inclusiveness in the selection process.

The committee praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for “courage, foresight and dedication to justice,” noting his leadership helped address ‘a long-standing imbalance’ in the political structure.

“The choice of Senator Adeola as a consensus candidate underscores the power of dialogue, unity and sacrifice,” the statement read, while also acknowledging the “statesmanship” of other aspirants who stepped down in the interest of peace and progress.
