Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Moses Alake Adeyemo, has officially assumed office as the Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress following the inauguration of a new State Executive Committee to steer the party's affairs for the next four years.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Friday at the party’s State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, marked the conclusion of the APC's 2026 congresses in the state.
The party’s Southwest Zonal Legal Adviser, Kolawole Majaro, administered the oath of office, swearing in Adeyemo alongside 35 other members of the newly constituted State Executive Committee.
The officials had earlier emerged through a consensus arrangement at the State Congress held on March 3, 2026, at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium.
The congress was conducted under the supervision of a committee led by Amos Gombi, which the party’s national secretariat in Abuja deployed to Oyo State to oversee the process.
In his acceptance speech, Adeyemo described his emergence as the party’s chairman in the state as another call to service. He pledged to work with the executive committee members and stakeholders to strengthen the party’s structure and consolidate unity within its ranks.
He said, "This new State Executive Committee under my leadership is being put in place to add value and strengthen our great party in view of the challenges ahead of us. I cannot help but appreciate all the leaders of the party from within and outside the state for their role in making the recently concluded congresses hitch-free and successful.
"Special kudos also go to Alh. Fatai Ibikunle, Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete, and other members of the Local Organizing Committee, who facilitated the feat.
"We have used the opportunity of the congresses to showcase our collective commitment to unity and harmony as progressives and democrats.

"It is a new dawn in Oyo APC, and I am optimistic that the current atmosphere of peace and togetherness will be sustained before, during, and after the next party primaries as we keep our eyes on the goals of securing 90 percent of the votes for President Bola Tinubu and reclaiming Agodi Government House in 2027.
"President Tinubu is, no doubt, performing beyond our expectations, and the best way to appreciate his good work is to retain him in Aso Villa until 2031.
"Against all odds, the president is pursuing his Renewed Hope Agenda with vigour and passion, while the positive results are being felt in all sectors of the economy and our national life.
"Therefore, it is imperative we give him the chance of a second term in office so that he can consolidate on his numerous achievements so far."
Other members of the executive committee inaugurated alongside Adeyemo included Dr. Taofeek Lamidi (Deputy Chairman), Hon. Fatai Adesina (State Secretary), Dr. Adekemi Opatunde (Woman Leader), Olawale Sadare (Publicity Secretary), Olalekan Oladejo (Youth Leader), Remi Adepoju (Organizing Secretary), Ajiboye Akinsanya (Treasurer), Sunday Aborisade (Legal Adviser), Alhaja Tinuade Adigun (Auditor), Lukman Owonikoko (Asst. State Secretary), Ma Fatimah Hassan (Deputy State Woman Leader), Jimoh Osundara (PLWD Leader) among others.
