Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, has described the just-concluded 50th anniversary of the state’s creation as all-inclusive, impactful and historic.

In his post-anniversary statement as chairman of the Media Committee of the event, Ajanaku lauded the charismatic, people-centred and leadership qualities of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, which he said were demonstrated through the all-inclusive golden jubilee celebration.

He said the respect and recognition accorded Ondo State’s past leaders, living and dead, through the conferment of lifetime achievement awards, underscored the governor’s impeccable character as a man of integrity.

Ajanaku described the anniversary as impactful and historic in the lives of many families, particularly young adults, who participated in the essay competitions and won plots of land and cash prizes, which, he noted, would open a new and transformative chapter in their lives.

He highlighted the giant strides of the government towards setting the pace for transforming Ondo State from a civil-service-dominated state to an industrialised one, through monumental projects in the pipeline for execution.

The commissioner listed the projects to include Olokola Free Trade Zone, Deep Sea Port—whose licence was recently revalidated by the Federal Government—and refinery.

He said the projects would set a development template for the new Ondo in the next 50 years, as they would boost the state’s economy.

He did not conclude the post-anniversary message without thanking God for a hitch-free celebration, while also appreciating the governor for the confidence reposed in the anniversary planning committee and for his support.

The commissioner thanked members of the committee, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, for their cooperation and synergy in ensuring the successful execution of  activities lined up for the anniversary.
