Thousands of participants gathered for a cultural showcase as Àjoyò a lifestyle, entertainment and cultural inspired brand, Attempt A Guinness World Records, to celebrate Nigeria’s iconic adire fabric.

The event attracted culture enthusiasts, fashion lovers, creatives and the public, dressed in traditional indigo-dyed textile, transforming the venue into a vibrant display of adire patterns.

The organisers said the initiative is to celebrate our heritage while promoting adire as a global cultural symbol.

A representative of Àjoyò, Sinmisola Olajuwon, noted the record attempt is to spotlight indigenous craftsmanship and encourage wider appreciation for locally produced textiles.

Participants registered and underwent accreditation, while officials monitored designated counting zones to ensure compliance with Guinness World Records rules.

The documentation process also included photographic evidence and continuous video recording as required by the global record authority.

Their presence further underscored the importance of promoting Nigerian culture and supporting initiatives that celebrate indigenous craftsmanship.

Observers noted that the gathering not only highlighted the cultural significance of Adire but also created a platform for promoting local textile artisans and designers whose craft has been preserved for generations.

At the end of the event, organisers confirmed that all documentation gathered during the attempt would be submitted to Guinness World Records for official review and verification.

They expressed optimism that the initiative would further strengthen global recognition of Adire and encourage continued support for Nigeria’s indigenous fashion and textile industry
