The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has described Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a standout figure in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic, noting his ability not only to remain politically relevant but also to build one of the country’s most enduring political structures.

In a congratulatory message marking the President’s 74th birthday, conveyed through his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, the monarch portrayed Tinubu as a defining leader committed to nurturing a new generation of public servants.

According to him, the President’s political trajectory reflects a rare combination of resilience, vision, and organisational depth.

“Tinubu is not flawless, and he might not be universally loved, but his political journey is a phenomenon worth studying. In a democracy where many fade after one term, he has remained relevant for over two decades. That endurance is no accident; it underscores the power of vision and structure in leadership,” he said.

The monarch noted that in contemporary Nigerian history, Tinubu is widely recognised for his resilience, political acumen, and contributions to national development.

He described the President’s career as a study in structure, loyalty, and consistency, adding that while many political figures have risen and fallen in the Fourth Republic, Tinubu has maintained a steady influence.

Highlighting his public service record—as a former governor of Lagos State, senator representing Lagos West, and Nigeria’s 16th President since 2023—the Alaafin commended ongoing reforms aimed at economic stability, including fiscal discipline, revenue growth, and infrastructure development.

He further characterised Tinubu as a visionary statesman with a longstanding commitment to democratic ideals, from his opposition to military rule to his current leadership.

“As the President marks this milestone, his Renewed Hope agenda is expected to reshape Nigeria’s global standing and place the country on a sustainable path to prosperity,” the statement added.
