Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has described the newly-nominated Minister of Power, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, as a “superlative technocrat, who combines high-level technical expertise with exceptional managerial competence, driving efficiency and innovation through data-driven decisions.”
In a congratulatory statement through his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Dirojaiye, Oba Owoade says the new minister is a round peg in a round hole, who operates outside traditional political constraints not only to achieve measurable long-term results, but also to make choices based on facts, data and scientific analysis, rather than political ideology.
Ibadan Frontline Elite Group has hailed the nomination of Tegbe.
A statement signed by the Coordinator, Folakemi Akinleye and Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Babatunde, described Tegbe’s nomination as well-deserved, highlighting his commitment to the progress of Ibadan, Oyo State and the nation.

The group hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his trust in Ibadan’s human capital, saying appointing another Ibadan indigene to head such a sensitive ministry showed confidence in the city’s wealth of competent and experienced professionals.
The body lauded the President for approving dualisation of Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, saying the project, when completed, is expected to end the nightmare commuters are facing and deter kidnappers, who have exploited the route’s poor condition.
It congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, noting under his reign, Ibadan indigenes have continued to ascend to heights of national significance.
Expressing optimism in Tegbe’s ability to excel, the group urged Oyo State people to rally behind the minister-designate, emphasising that absolute support is vital for Tegbe to succeed in the challenging task of transforming the country’s power sector.
