The Acting National President of the newly inaugurated Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), Iliyasu Zakari alongside members of the ALGON BoT has called for strengthened collaboration in deepening grassroots empowerment, prosperity, growth & development in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Zakari made the call when ALGON paid a familiarization visit to the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak at the Governors Forum Secretariat, Abuja.
The visit was part of efforts to build stronger synergy and enhance working relationships between ALGON and the Governors Forum for effective grassroots governance.

Addressing newsmen after the meeting, In Zakari said, "we are here to identify with our parents,(governors) and to assure them of productive collaboration as the third tier of government.
Our first point of call after our Inauguration should be the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and that is why we are here. We will revive ALGON and ensure strict adherence to the rule of law."
