The stage is set for the grand finale of the 5th  Pastor Umo Eno Easter Under-17 Unity Cup at the Uyo Township Stadium today, with the occasion doubling as a celebration of the 62nd birthday of Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno.

The final, scheduled to kick off at 3pm, will see Hon. Frank Archibong Babes FC of Eket face Macito Solution FC of Uyo in what promises to be a fitting climax to this year's edition. Entry is free.

Governor Eno is expected to grace the event as part of activities marking his birthday, while the Commissioner for Sports Development, Elder Paul Bassey, will serve as chief host. The final will be declared open by the Chief Whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and former NFF board member, Rt. Hon. Effiong Johnson.

Special recognition will also be extended to the member representing Oruk Anam/Ukanafun Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, and Hon. Frank Archibong, both of whom will be honoured for their contributions to grassroots sports development.

Organised by the Grassroots Sports Federation under the Arise Agenda of the governor, the 5th  edition has directly impacted more than 6,000 youths across the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State. The tournament has also served as a talent discovery platform, with scouts and agents expected to be present at the finale.

"This tournament is more than football," the organisers said ahead of the final. "It is about unity, youth empowerment, and building the next generation of stars for Akwa Ibom and Nigeria."

Members of the public and football lovers are invited to attend.
