• Urges sacrifice, humility at Easter

A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), while congratulating Christians all over Nigeria and Ondo State in particular, has sought the arrest of those behind the destruction of President Bola Tinubu's billboards in some parts of Akure, Ondo State.

The group urged Christian faithful to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, humility and selflessness exemplified by Jesus Christ.

According to the group, Christians should let the timeless rectitude of Christ shape their daily interactions with neighbours, leaders and the country at large, noting that a society built on the principles of compassion and selflessness would invariably prosper.

Speaking with newsmen in Akure, Ondo State capital, on Friday, the Director-General of AMG, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, described Easter as a profound reminder of the power of redemption and the triumph of love over adversity.

"Easter transcends the festive pomp and pageantry. It is a season that calls on all believers to reflect deeply on the life of Christ, His unwavering commitment to service, His spirit of forgiveness, and His ultimate sacrifice for humanity," he stated.

Meanwhile, Asagunla reaffirmed AMG's commitment and mandate to deliver an overwhelming victory for President Bola Tinubu in the state during the 2027 general election.

With the group urging the people to reciprocate Tinubu's developmental strides by ensuring that he receives an unprecedented volume of votes, the Director-General of the group emphasised that the ongoing policies and bold reforms currently reshaping the socio-economic fabric of the country should be considered.

“President Tinubu's administration has embarked on courageous reforms that will secure Nigeria's future for generations to come. The pains of today are the gains of tomorrow. Ondo State must stand firmly behind this visionary leader in 2027. "

According to Asagunla, AMG has been working tirelessly across all 203 wards of the state, ensuring that women, youth, and the elderly key into the vision of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to surpass the votes recorded for President Tinubu in the 2023 elections by setting a new benchmark in 2027.

"We have left no ward untouched. Our mobilisation machinery is reaching every hamlet, every market and every constituency. The message is clear: Ondo State will speak with one loud voice for President Tinubu in 2027.

"The Minister (Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo) has demonstrated that public office is a platform for service, not self-aggrandisement. His humanitarian footprint is visible, verifiable and deeply appreciated. We salute his commitment to the welfare of the common man."

Following the destruction of billboards bearing the image and insignia of President Bola Tinubu in some parts of the state, particularly in the Akure metropolis, Asagunla called on security agencies to identify and bring the perpetrators to book.

"Political expression must never descend into vandalism. Destroying the President's billboards is an attack on democratic culture and the will of millions who stand with him. We urge all lovers of peace to resist such tendencies and report those responsible to law enforcement."

The Director-General further reiterated its resolve to remain focused on its grassroots mobilisation agenda, vowing that no act of intimidation would deter its commitment to ensuring a landslide victory for President Tinubu in Ondo State come 2027.
