Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, have rescued a 20-year-old kidnap victim, Favour Suberu, during a bush-combing operation in Isua Akoko, Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The corps said the victim was rescued on April 14 after she and her brother were abducted a day earlier in Igara, Edo State, and taken into a forest in Ondo State.

A spokesperson for the agency, Adenike Jimoh, confirmed the development on Friday, noting that operatives discovered and rescued the victim during a routine forest patrol.

He said the rescued victim has been moved to the state headquarters for further processing, while efforts are ongoing to locate her brother, who remains in captivity.

Search-and-rescue operations, according to the corps, are continuing within the forest area.

The victim, while narrating her experience, said she and her brother were abducted while on an errand in the Igara area of Edo State before being taken into the forest.

She said they were held at gunpoint in the forest, adding that attempts to escape were initially unsuccessful due to their captors' vigilance.

She, however, seized an opportunity to flee when confusion broke out after her brother attempted to overpower the kidnappers.

"I ran without knowing where I was heading until I sighted Amotekun operatives who rescued me," she said, expressing gratitude to the security outfit.

Favour appealed to the authorities to intensify efforts to rescue her brother, saying, "If not for Amotekun, I would have been dead by now."
