Hon. Azubuike Umeadi, a House of Representatives aspirant in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, has resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement he personally signed on Sunday, Umeadi said his decision was driven by the protracted internal crisis within the ADC.
“This is to formally announce my resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and my official defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) with immediate effect,” he said.
"This decision comes after deep reflection, broad consultations with political associates, community leaders, supporters, and critical stakeholders across Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.
"It is a step taken purely in the overriding interest of the good people of our constituency and my unwavering conviction to offer purposeful, people-oriented, and transformational representation come 2027.
"My resignation from ADC was not made lightly.The relationships built and lessons learned remain invaluable."

According him,"The protracted internal crisis within the ADC, which has continued to create uncertainty around the party’s cohesion and future direction, has made it imperative for progressive-minded leaders like myself to align with a platform better positioned to deliver the aspirations of our people.
"I remain sincerely grateful to the leadership and members of the party at the ward, local government, state, and national levels for the opportunities, support, and political experiences I garnered during my membership.
"The relationships built and lessons learned remain invaluable."
Umeadi, however, assured the good people of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency that this transition will strengthens his resolve to continue consulting, mobilizing, and working tirelessly toward building a more inclusive, progressive, and prosperous constituency.
"The journey to 2027 is about the people, their aspirations, and the collective desire for effective representation." Umeadi said.
