Chief Prince Tonnie Oganah, the media and publicity director of Anioma State creation technical committee, has urged his people to beware of detractors who are bent on sabotaging the Anioma State creation project.

Oganah, at a press conference in Asaba on Friday, warned Anioma State citizens about the activities of detractors of the cause, stressing that they’re bent on frustrating the senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, who has been at the forefront for the actualisation of the project.

He said, “They’ve packaged several lies against the cause, including the quest for the state capital to be moved from Asaba. They’re also determined to ensure that the 10th Senate doesn’t create any new state.

“These detractors have also accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) high command and President Bola Tinubu of insincerity. What’s more, is their bid to ensure that Senator Ned Nwoko doesn't return to the senate to complete the process of the state creation, which he revived at the beginning of his tenure in 2023.

“They’ve continued with their deceit that they want Anioma created only for the South-South region, which already has six states, as against the option of the South-East with only five States.”

According to him, Ned Nwoko sent two separate Anioma State creation delegates to Uyo and Enugu states. “These detractors didn’t send delegations to any of the two senate hearings in both the South-East and the South-South. The request has been long-standing, and only the late Senator Nosike Ikpo of Ibusa and Ned Nwoko ever supported the struggle.

“In a very desperate and evil strategy, they wrote a puerile petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Nwoko, alleging that he did nothing to merit the Paris Club payments, which is not true.
