Fast-rising Nigerian comedian Ejiro, popularly known as Anointed Mouth, is set to headline his first-ever comedy special, Parables of Joy: My Take, in Lagos, as he continues to carve a niche in the country’s vibrant entertainment landscape.
The live comedy special is scheduled to hold on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Velvet Place – Hotel Helen, with a red carpet session at 5:00 PM and the main performance commencing at 6:00 PM.
Billed as more than a conventional stand-up showcase, Parables of Joy: My Take will blend storytelling, satire, and observational comedy, drawing from everyday life, cultural nuances, and social realities.
The production is designed to deliver both laughter and reflection, offering audiences an immersive experience that connects deeply with real-life perspectives.
Speaking to journalists ahead of the event, Ejiro described the show as a defining moment in his creative journey.
“This is my sixth show, but importantly, it is my first comedy special. It represents growth, consistency, and a deeper expression of my craft. Over the years, I’ve been building not just performances, but a connection with my audience, and this special is a reflection of that journey,” he said.
He added that the concept behind the show is to go beyond surface-level humour by presenting relatable stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
“I want people to come, laugh wholeheartedly, but also see themselves in the stories. Parables of Joy is about finding humour in everyday struggles and triumphs, and leaving with something that stays with you long after the show ends,” he added.
The event will feature performances from Klint da Drunk, Gordons, Forever, Femi Barbs, and Larry Jay, alongside a special music performance by Timi Dakolo.
Organisers say the comedy special aims to deliver a premium entertainment experience, while also positioning Anointed Mouth as a standout voice within Nigeria’s comedy industry. It is also expected to serve as a platform for audience engagement, brand visibility for sponsors, and the continued promotion of live entertainment culture in Lagos.
Tickets for the show are priced at ₦50,000 under the Royalty category, with limited availability, as anticipation builds among comedy enthusiasts for what promises to be a memorable night of humour and insight.
