The Chairman of Apapa Local Government, Idowu Senbanjo, has sworn in members of her cabinet, charging them to demonstrate commitment, transparency and dedication in delivering quality governance to residents of the council area.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the council secretariat in Apapa on Friday after screening.

Senbanjo said the appointment of the cabinet members was aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring effective administration of the local government. She noted that the new team was carefully selected based on competence, loyalty and commitment to grassroots development.

The chairman emphasised that the responsibilities placed on the cabinet members were enormous, urging them to work collectively in the interest of the people of Apapa. According to her, the success of the administration would depend largely on teamwork, accountability and dedication to duty.

She also reminded the newly sworn-in officials that the expectations of residents are high, adding that the council must remain focused on improving infrastructure, sanitation, healthcare and other essential services within the local government area.

Senbanjo stressed that her administration remains committed to policies and programmes that will improve the quality of life of the people, noting that the council will continue to prioritise development initiatives that directly impact communities.

While congratulating the cabinet members on their appointments, the chairman urged them to see their new roles as a call to service rather than an opportunity for personal gain. She said public office demands integrity, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.

The council boss also urged the newly sworn-in officials to maintain close engagement with residents and stakeholders in order to address pressing community needs and strengthen grassroots governance.

The appointees expressed appreciation to the chairman for the confidence reposed in them and assured residents that the new team would work diligently to justify the trust placed in them.

They also pledged that the cabinet members would support the chairman’s vision for sustainable development, promising to implement programmes that would promote economic growth and social wellbeing within Apapa.
