Former Speaker of the 8th National Assembly and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), Yakubu Dogara, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention as a resounding affirmation of the party’s unity, discipline, and leadership capacity.

In a statement, Dogara congratulated the newly elected national officers, stressing that their emergence reflects the APC’s ability to renew itself and remain firmly anchored in democratic ideals. He highlighted Professor Nentawe Yilwatda’s stabilizing leadership as National Chairman and Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru’s organizational expertise as National Secretary, noting both will be instrumental in consolidating the party’s internal cohesion and national appeal.

He commended the Convention’s leadership team, led by Hon. Aminu Masari and Sen. Pius Anyim, for their transparent and disciplined management of the process, describing it as “a model of integrity and organizational excellence that sets a new standard for political gatherings in Nigeria.”

Dogara also paid tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging his role in strengthening both the APC and the nation. He described the President as “a leader of destiny whose courage and vision continue to inspire confidence and hope across Nigeria.”

Reflecting on the broader significance, Dogara asserted: “This Convention is not merely about electing officers; it is a declaration of resilience, unity, and readiness to serve. It demonstrates that the APC is a party of destiny, deeply rooted in democratic values and committed to Nigeria’s prosperity.”

He concluded with optimism, expressing confidence that the new leadership team will build on past successes and chart a bold course for the future: “With the quality of leaders elected, Nigeria’s future is secure, and the promise of progress is unstoppable.
