Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has described the party’s 2026 National Convention as a bold statement of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released through his media office, the former Kogi State governorship aspirant congratulated President Tinubu and the APC on the occasion of the convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja.

Speaking from the convention venue, Ugonoh commended the president for what he described as “transformational reforms” under the Renewed Hope agenda, which he said have significantly impacted the Nigerian economy.

He also praised President Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style, describing it as a major factor behind the APC’s growing dominance across the country.

According to him, the party’s expanding control of states reflects a broad acceptance of its policies and leadership, which he attributed to the president’s ability to unite political stakeholders and citizens.

Ugonoh noted that the alignment between federal and state governments under the APC has strengthened policy coordination and grassroots mobilisation, which he said would be crucial for the party’s success in the 2027 elections.

He further lauded the renewed energy within the party’s structure, citing the large turnout of party faithful at the convention as evidence of a reinvigorated political base.

The APC stalwart urged party leaders, particularly those contesting positions at the convention, to prioritise unity and work collectively towards securing President Tinubu’s re-election.

He also wished delegates and participants a successful convention and safe return to their various destinations.
