All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Fubara Dagogo was yesterday suspended indefinitely from the party.

He was suspended by party members and the ward executive committee of Ward 4, Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Dagogo had dragged the ruling party to the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to halt the planned convention.

He claimed that he was unfairly excluded from contesting for the position of National Vice-Chairman, Southsouth, despite paying N5.1million for the form.

Dagogo alleged that after paying the money, the party refused to issue him the nomination form.

He prayed the court to suspend the Southsouth zonal Congress, declare him eligible for the nomination form, and void any election conducted without his participation.

Dagogo also demanded N100million as damages for wrongful exclusion.

The Bonny ward executive committee suspended him over allegation of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and other related offences.

The Chairman of Ward 4, Bonny APC, Richard Ibani, said the resolution was reached after the committee’s meeting on March 16.

The resolution, which was also signed by the Secretary, Ward 4, Mr Donald Jumbo, and other 21 members of the Committee, said Dagogo’s suspension was indefinite.

Dagodo was accused of the breach of the APC Constitution; anti-party activities and conduct,  likely to embarrass and bring the party to hatred and ridicule; flouting the rules of the APC; disobedience to lawful directives of the party and making unguided statements, demeaning leaders of the party within and outside the state.

The ward leaders said the offences were  in contravention of Article 21.2 (I), (II), and (VII) of the APC Constitution of 2022 (as amended).

They added: “The ward exco has always advised its members to desist from actions capable of ridiculing our party, but your recent actions have shown that you are not willing to respect and abide by the constitution and actions of our great party.

“Your suspension is with immediate effect and we hereby ask the state secretariat to endorse our resolution with the necessary actions.”
