The Nigerian Army has charged newly promoted senior officers of the 32 Artillery Brigade to uphold its core values and lead by example in the discharge of their duties.
The Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, gave the charge on Monday during the decoration ceremony held at the Owena Cantonment Officers’ Mess in Akure.
Speaking at the event, Ifeanyi described the promotion as not only a reward for past efforts but also a call to greater service.
He urged the officers to remain committed to discipline, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
"This promotion is not only a reward for past efforts but also a call to greater service. We encourage the officers to uphold the core values of the Nigerian Army and to lead by example in all their assignments," he noted.
He stressed the need for the officers to uphold the core values of the Nigerian Army and demonstrate exemplary leadership in all their assignments.
The Brigade Commander noted that four officers were elevated from the rank of Major to Lieutenant Colonel, describing the ceremony as a significant milestone for both the beneficiaries and the brigade.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers, saying their elevation was a testament to their hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment to service.
He, however, reminded them that their new rank comes with increased responsibilities and expectations, urging them to remain steadfast and ready to take on more demanding leadership roles.
Ifeanyi also appreciated the spouses of the officers for their unwavering support, noting that their encouragement and understanding play a vital role in helping military personnel cope with the demands of service.
The newly decorated officers are Lieutenant Colonels A. Ornan, B.G. Oyinloye, I.N. Badamasi, and E. Agboola.
Remarking on behalf of his fellow officers, Lieutenant Colonel A. Ornan applauded the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, and the leadership of the Nigerian Army for the confidence reposed in them.
He, however, reaffirmed their commitment to serve with integrity, dedication, and loyalty, pledging to always place national interest above personal considerations.
