Askari Fuji takes shots at Police Contributory Pension scheme

A retired Nigerian Deputy Superintendent of Police and a Fuji Musician, Alhaji Ishola Adeyinka aka Askari To Nko Fuji has said that the Contributory pension scheme for the Nigerian Police Force.

In a recent chat, the ex-cop claimed that the scheme is a scam and unacceptable.

Adeyinka, who retired alongside his colleagues, as a member of April 1, 1991 PCI intakes, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Inspector General Of Police, Tunji Disu to find a way of scraping the Police Contributory Pension Scheme because it is yet to serve the purpose it was created for.

The retired police DSP who entertained guests and colleagues at a well attended reception told the gathering that policing is one of the dangerous professions because it involves total commitment and one could be killed or maimed anytime.

In his words, “why should we retire after 35 years of meritorious service to the nation only to be given a meagre three million naira (N3 million).”

While thanking God for coming out unscathed, Askari Fuji thanked the Nigerian Police Force for the opportunity to combine his talent of singing Fuji with policing ‘despite the ups and down.

“It’s been interesting all the way and I thank Almighty Allah for this exceeding grace,” he said.

Speaking about his next step after retirement, he said, “it’s time to face music squarely and serve my people in Ibadan Oyo State as the Mogaji (head ) of Alare Agbejonku royal dynasty.”

DSP Ishola Adeyinka retired alongside 28 other members of the April 1, 1991 PCI intakes, at a reception ceremony, which had dignitaries in attendance at the Police College ground including Mogaji Arotayo, Mogaji Otin, Mogaji Osho Hon Benjy Oshundairo, High chief Ifatunji Alabi the Akogun of Ibese Land, Alh Adewale Konta, Medina Ashabi Baritide, Arole Askarifuji Ooji Tajudeen, Abebi Ayala, Pa Adawa Adewale, Supa Sunny, old students of Urban day Grammar School, Ibadan, Justice Estate CDA, Ikorodu, Presidents and members of Ambassador Club of Ibadan amongst several others.
